Super Blood Moon - Lunar Eclipse
Blood Red Moon
During an eclipse, specifically during a lunar eclipse, the moon's going to be sitting in the shadow of the earth. It's sort off pass behind the earth and the earth's like almost all of the sunlight compacting the moon.
If you're looking from earth, you can see our shadows will creep across the moon surface until it totally blocks the moon.
If you're looking from earth, you can see our shadows will creep across the moon surface until it totally blocks the moon.
And when that happens, the moon's going to appear "red"!
The reason for that is, the little bit of sunlight that does get through is going to be the same kind of sunlight that we see at sunrise and sunset, its red.

Lunar Eclipse
When you think of this, you're going to see all the sun rises and all the sun sets from all across the planet earth, hitting the moon at the same time and then bouncing back down to earth, for us to get a really beautiful shadow earth to the moon, during the eclipse.
They're kind of rare, but if you missed it because it's cloudy where you leave or you obviously sleep, missing the alarm clock, as it's in the middle of the night, after all!
We do get another opportunity in october 8th 2015!
So don't miss out!
